Commercial Solar Installation

Rooftop and ground-mount solar systems engineered for Alberta and BC commercial buildings, from warehouses and manufacturing plants to office and retail properties.

What Commercial Solar Involves

A commercial solar system is sized against your facility's actual load, not a generic percentage of roof space. That starts with a site assessment covering roof condition and structural capacity (or ground-mount site conditions), your electrical service size, your utility interconnection requirements, and 12 months of consumption or interval data where available. From there, system design, permitting, procurement, installation, and commissioning follow.

System Types

Rooftop Systems

The most common configuration for warehouses, manufacturing plants, and commercial office buildings, using the existing structure and minimizing land use.

Ground Mount Arrays

For sites with available land, agricultural operations, or buildings where roof condition doesn't support panel loads.

Carport & BIPV Systems

Solar carports over parking areas, or building-integrated panels on facades and canopies, for sites that want to combine generation with another function.

Equipment

Our installations use Tier 1 monocrystalline TOPCon modules rated around 620W with roughly 23% efficiency and 30-year performance warranties guaranteeing output well above 85% after three decades, paired with three-phase commercial inverters supporting up to 150% DC oversizing and multi-MPPT design for higher conversion efficiency across variable roof orientations.

Financing

Systems can be purchased with cash, financed through a commercial loan or CEIP-style property-tax financing where available, or structured through a zero-cap-ex energy savings program model. See our financing page for a full comparison.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a commercial solar installation take?

From signed agreement to commissioning, most commercial projects take 3 to 6 months, depending on permitting timelines, utility interconnection processing, and equipment lead times. Larger or more complex sites can take longer.

Will solar work on an older commercial roof?

It depends on the roof's remaining service life and structural capacity. Part of our site assessment includes a structural review, and in some cases we recommend addressing roof condition before or alongside installation to avoid removing panels for a future re-roof.

What happens to the system if I sell the building?

An owned system generally transfers with the property and adds to its value; a financed system's remaining obligation is typically negotiated as part of the sale, similar to other capital improvements. CEIP-style financing specifically transfers with the property tax account.
